Peaceful Journey

This song is a tribute to Liz—her strength, her spirit, and the quiet grace she carried until her passing in 1998. It's also dedicated to those we meet along the way who offer new perspectives and shape our path as we journey through life.

Memories of Europe

A musical collage of cherished memories from our family trip to Europe in 2002—this echoes the rolling hills of Tuscany, a string quartet playing Moon River in Venice as the boys fed pigeons in Piazza San Marco, the majesty of a castle stay overlooking the Austrian Alps, and the charm of wandering Prague’s old town with a dear friend.

Storey's Beach

Each time I visit Port Hardy, I walk along the shoreline of Storey’s beach—a place of quiet beauty and deep serenity. The soaring bald eagles, towering trees and rhythmic waves always renew my spirit and refresh my soul.

Pachelbel and Bach

Two classical melodies are brought together here—Pachelbel's Canon in D, which I walked down the aisle to, and a rendition of Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring.

Soul Searching

As my friend journeyed through cancer, I often reflected on life and death, finding comfort in the ever-changing ocean—the steady rhythm of the waves, the ebb and flow of the tide, and the way even stormy seas eventually return to calm. These images brought me peace and quietly found their way into this song.

Good Old Fort Langley

This melody came to me as I drove toward home one day. The breathtaking view of Mt. Baker to the south, cows grazing peacefully in the fields, and the Golden Ears Mountains rising in the distance to the north stirred a deep appreciation for my hometown of Fort Langley. I tried to capture the town’s old-fashioned charm—where people greet each other on the street, neighbours lend a hand, and the distant sound of the train adds to the community's character.

Irish Medley

A collection of tunes that have stayed with me over the years—melodies I've heard, loved, and naturally added to my repertoire. Together they capture the spirit and charm of traditional folk music.

Greensleeves

This timeless melody began as a love song in 16th-century England, expressing longing, depth, and beauty. Centuries later, it was adapted into a beloved Christmas carol. It's a glimpse into history, emotion, and the power of music to move us across generations.

Hummingbirds and Butterflies

One spring day at Harrison Lake, I was captivated by the sheer number of hummingbirds and butterflies flitting around—it sparked a melody. The chaotic interlude reflects the return to our busy lives after being at the lake, yet even in the chaos, we can hold onto moments of peace, like the graceful dance of hummingbirds and butterflies.

Fresh Bread

The slow rise of dough, the warmth of the oven, and the scent of fresh bread in the air felt like more than just baking. It became, one quiet morning, a reflection of transformation, renewal, and my place in something larger. Drawn to my harp, I poured my thoughts into a song—one of nourishment, awakening, and sacred connection.

Lullaby and Pondering

Bedtime was often a challenge with four young boys. To help them settle, I sometimes played a lullaby on my harp while they listened from their beds. One night, after they had drifted off to sleep, I kept playing—lost in thought—as the second part of this song quietly emerged.

Song of Trust

Liz wrote these words as a poem, and I set them to music shortly before she passed away. Hearing her husband, Alf Krause, sing it while strumming his guitar makes it an especially moving tribute to her life and faith. I accompany on piano and sing harmony alongside one of Liz's sons—together creating a deeply personal and heartfelt offering that carries her spirit in every note.
